Wismar's Water Gate was built in late Gothic style. Whilst the side facing the city still has a typical late Gothic stepped gable, the north gable which was rebuilt around 1600, is triangle-shaped.

The Baltic Sea beaches are approx. 4 km away, and the renowned spa town Boltenhagen is located 18 km from the hotel.
